Giveaway winner and some ways to use your scraps

Thank you everyone for your comments and for sharing what you do with your scraps! I loved reading and wow - you are so creative! I wanted to make a list of everything you said but half way through realized that would be boring so I picked some of the ideas and will post pictures along with them.
But first - the winner.
Haven't figured out how to number the comments but I got lucky and only had to count to 37 :)

Congratulations Katherine, I will email you in a bit.

Now onto the scrappy part.
Some of you mentioned sending your scraps to your fellow bee members when its your turn. Well, turns out I was sent scraps for my bees as well and I haven't shown the blocks yet.
So here you go:

A lot of you are doing string blocks and spider web blocks. Even hexies were on the list and log cabin blocks. I believe that mug rugs and pouches are a hit, too! And Tanya said that she was using her scraps to cut into flower shapes so all the girls at her daugher's birthday party could make little flower hair clips. I just love the idea!

Here is a little mosaic of some of some scrap ideas I found in my favorites :)

To see where the photos come from please click on the picture and it will take you to the flickr site with all the links.

Hope you are having a great day!

Accuquilt Go! Baby Cutter Giveaway

Okay, so the moment you all have been probably waiting for is here: It's time to giveaway a Go! Baby Cutter and three dies of your choice!

To enter yourself, all you have to do is leave a comment.

You can of course leave any comment you like but I would love it if you could tell me what you are sewing with your scraps (links are fine, too). I am currently working on two projects with them but still have so many left that I am desperately looking for another way to use them. The goal is to be scrapless by the end of February :)

If you follow me you get an extra entry :)

Please make sure that there is a way of contacting you, if I pick you and can't email you, I will pick someone else.

Good luck everyone!

Bee Europe Quilt

Last october it was my turn to send out fabric to the other members of Bee Europa. I chose to go with a forest theme and give the quilt to my brother for christmas.

The quilt was happily done and given at christmas eve (because that is when we crazy Germans celebrate christmas^^). There was a huge amount of staring and not believing involved on my brother's side when he opened the package so I guess he like it very much :)

Thank you fellow bee members for helping me make such a lovely quilt for him!

Dankeschön an alle Bee-Mitglieder, die mir geholfen haben, so einen genialen Quilt für ihn zu machen!

Some of the blocks weren't complete when the quilt was made (and one didn't fit into it), so some pillows with tree blocks will be made by me in the future.
Einige der Blocks waren allerdings noch nicht fertig (und einer hat nicht ganz reingepasst), und so werde ich noch ein paar Kissen daraus nähen werden.

Hope you are having a great weekend,

Ein wunderschönes Wochenende Euch allen,
Johanna

Circle blanket Tutorial

Another small tutorial for your go dies, this time how to quickly turn a simple blanket into a unique gift for one of your friends.

Supplies:
a blanket (I bought mine from Ikea, but you can really use any you like)
some scraps in your prefered colors
can of basting spray
the accuquilt go! baby cutter and the circle die

I simply put my scraps on the circles on the die they fit on, if you prefer bigger circles you need bigger scraps; if you prefer smaller circles you just use the smaller circles on the die.
Cut and lay all your circles out on the blanket. Next, spray the left side of your circles with basting spray and put them back onto the blanket. I tried spraying the circles before I layed them out but my hands got all sticky after removing them so I simply did it the other way around.

Now sew all your circles down with the stitch you like. You can handsew them down, or use a zigzag or even a blanket-stitch.

Admire your blanket and pat yourself on the back. You just made a wonderful blanket to give away or use for yourself in almost no time.

Hope you are having a great weekend!
